Dead Spots In The Grass

Dead Spots In The Grass

Do you find that every spring you have random dead spots in your grass? Spend a lot of money trying to figure out what it is? Well, sometimes it’s just dead grass and others it is caused by mites eating the grass roots while the grass lay dormant during the dry winter. One way you can tell if it is mite damage is to pluck a few pieces of the dead grass and if you see little dark or black spots on the blades of grass that is a sign of mites. To alleviate this issue, water the grass once to twice a week when there are signs of a dry winter. Yes, I know you may think I’m crazy, but it truly does help. And remember to never leave your garden hose hooked up to the spigots during the winter time.
